I haven’t written much in the last couple of weeks here. I’ve never been one to post about the latest farmer’s market or team sports schedule. If I’m going to write, it’s going to be about real estate. Much of what I have been working on is more agent and business centric. It will improve your experience working with us but isn’t necessarily blog post worthy.
One thing that we dabbled in a few months ago and are moving back into is QR codes. A QR code is like a bar code that a smart phone can read through its camera and then direct the user to a website or deliver a message. All without typing a single thing into the phone. Dell, Calvin Klien, HBO and Audi are just a few businesses that have used QR codes in their marketing. If you need a QR code reader search that phrase in your phone’s application store. There a numerous free ones available.
We’re placing QR codes on are permanent flyers outside of all our listings. The code opens the dedicated property website where all the photos that have been loaded can be viewed. In about the same time that it takes to get a soggy flier out of a box the phone now has all the online content about the property stored in the phone. A code could direct to a video walk-through of the property, another tool we are starting to implement with our listings.
Finally, a code can direct to a special offer like the one here for those considering listing their home. For the time being, the codes are going to be a novelty, albeit a useful one, and time will tell whether they are widely adopted.
